ACNE

Acne is a common skin condition that affects most people at some point. It causes spots, oily skin and sometimes skin that's hot or painful to touch.

Acne most commonly develops on the:

  • face – this affects almost everyone with acne
  • back – this affects more than half of people with acne
  • chest – this affects about 15% of people with acne

Epiduo

Epiduo gel is used to treat acne in people who are at least 9 years old and contains a combination of adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. Adapalene is similar to vitamin A. It helps the skin renew itself. Benzoyl peroxide has an antibacterial effect. It also has a mild drying effect, which allows excess oils and dirt to be easily washed away from the skin.

Differin

Differin is used to treat severe acne in people who are at least 12 years old and works by decreasing acne formation. Differin (adapalene) is a topical medicine similar to vitamin A. It helps the skin to renew itself.

Duac

DUAC is a combination medicine used to treat acne. Benzoyl peroxide has an antibacterial effect. It also has a mild drying effect that allows excess oil and dirt to be washed away. Clindamycin is an antibiotic that prevents bacteria from growing on the skin.
